Seed funds to new initiatives

Deadline to submit your requests is 31 October 2025.

WiSe provides seed funds to new initiatives considering gender aspects and inclusive participation.

Proposals should cover the following points:

Aim and program of the initiative
Why it can be of interest to the Sensors Council
Why it can be of interest to Women in Sensors
Measurable benefits to the Sensors Council and Women in Sensors
Total and Requested Budget & Justification*
Other sponsorship sources (societies, private, …)

Maximum amount: $500. No more than 25% can be used to support the travel of invited speakers.

This amount will be refunded after the event, provided that WiSe receives a detailed report within 30 days from the event.

Instructions for event organization

Timeline: The event must be organized in the period from 30 days after the form submission, until 30 November 2025 (e.g., if you submit on June 03, the event must run after 03 July). Proposals not respecting this timeline will be automatically rejected.

Invite one WiSe representative: One member of the Women in Sensors Committee must be invited for an introductory presentation about WiSe (in person or online, 10 minutes). Please be sure to indicate her name in the proposal program. You will also be asked to print and show the official WiSe poster that you will receive if your proposal is retained for funding.

Reporting: After the event, provide WiSe with pictures and a technical report of the event (you will receive the templates if your proposal is retained for funding). The report must be sent within 30 days from the initiative to Brooke Johnson (bjohnson@conferencecatalysts.com) and Paola Saccomandi (WiSe Chair, paola.saccomandi@polimi.it). Mandatory email subject: “WiSe seed funds 2025 - REPORT – FULL EVENT NAME”

Transfer of funds: Funds will be transferred after the completion of the event and pictures, and technical report submission. All funds must be requested for transfer from Brooke Johnson (bjohnson@conferencecatalysts.com) and Paola Saccomandi (WiSe Chair, paola.saccomandi@polimi.it) no later than December 1, 2025.
